MANILA, Philippines – Locals and tourists visited one of the newest attractions in Tokyo, Japan — the Hello Kitty Exhibition, located in Tokyo National Museum, as part of Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary.

The exhibition features Hello Kitty’s design evolution through decades of cultural changes, diverse creative forms of artists and brands, and the largest variety of Hello Kitty goods ever displayed.

The exhibition gallery is divided into seven themes: Hello You, Hello Memories, Hello Style, Hello Evolution, Hello Collaboration, Hello Friends, and Hello Tomorrow.

Hello Kitty, also known by her real name Kitty White, was created in 1974. The first item, a vinyl coin purse, was introduced in 1975.

Hello Kitty was created by Japanese designer Yuko Shimizu.

The exhibit is open from November 1, 2024 to February 24, 2025. Tickets can be purchased online via Klook.
The museum is a 10-minute walk from JR Ueno Station (Park exit) and Uguisudani Station, or a 15-minute walk from Keisei Ueno Station, Tokyo Metro Ueno Station, and Tokyo Metro Nezu Station. – Kim Harold Peji/Rappler.com
